The Australian Government is inviting organisations via a closed non-competitive process to apply for a Volunteer Grant under the Families and Communities Program – Volunteer Grants Activity in 2019-2020.
The Volunteer Grants Activity is an element of the Families and Communities Program. The Families and Communities Program aims to strengthen relationships, support families, improve well being of children and young people, reduce the cost of family breakdown and strengthen family and community functioning.
Volunteer Grants aim to support the efforts of Australia’s volunteers as well as to encourage and increase participation in volunteering. The grants provide small amounts of money that organisations and community groups can use to help their volunteers.

ASIC introduces the Whistleblower Policies as follows:
“This guide is for entities that must have a whistleblower policy under the Corporations Act—public companies, large proprietary companies and proprietary companies that are trustees of registrable superannuation entities. It gives guidance to help these entities establish a whistleblower policy that complies with their legal obligations. It also contains our good practice guidance on implementing and maintaining a whistleblower policy.
This guide will also help entities that are not required to have a whistleblower policy but are required to manage whistleblowing in accordance with the Corporations Act.”

The theme for IVD 2019 is ‘Volunteer for an Inclusive Future”. Don’t forget to show your appreciation for your wonderful volunteers!
International Volunteer Day (IVD) is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly and is held each year on 5 December.
It is a day for volunteers and volunteer involving communities to celebrate their efforts and to showcase the difference they make in their communities.
International Volunteers Day focuses on the value of volunteerism through appreciation of local volunteers, including the marginalised groups and women who make up over 60% of volunteers worldwide, and their impact on building resilient communities.

Behind every volunteer lies an equally dedicated group of individuals and agencies who are responsible for the coordination, support, training, administration and recruitment of the world’s volunteers – skilled professionals who are adept at taking singular passion and turning it into effective action.
That is why we celebrate International Volunteer Managers Day (IVMDay) every year on 5 November.
It is important to let those professionals know that the spirit of volunteerism is enhanced and enabled by them – and to thank them.
